Ingredients

  • Boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into pieces — 1360 g
  • Garlic salt — 8 ml
  • Ground black pepper — 15 ml
  • Cornstarch — 60 ml
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) — 30 ml
  • Honey — 120 ml
  • Soy sauce — 60 ml
  • Ginger paste — 15 ml
  • Minced garlic — 30 ml
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onion, sliced

Steps

  1. Place the cut chicken in a large bowl, add garlic salt, ground black pepper, and cornstarch; toss thoroughly so each piece is coated (optionally add a little more starch for extra crispiness).
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat; fry the chicken in batches, without overcrowding, until golden brown on both sides, then transfer to a plate.
  3. Return all the fried chicken to the skillet over medium-high heat; pour in the honey and soy sauce, add the ginger paste and minced garlic, and stir to coat the chicken with the sauce.
  4. Simmer over medium heat for a few minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky, evenly coating the chicken.
  5. Serve the chicken sprinkled with sesame seeds and sliced green onion; serve over prepared rice.

White Rice

  • White rice
  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions until tender; serve as a base for the chicken.
